Common question is “is it worth upgrading.” This is hard to answer, but if you’ve used two different telescopes under the same circumstances you might have a feel for the difference in light gathering ability. This chart might help you decide if that difference matters to you or not.
Simply look at the size scope you have on the top row (example, 102mm) and follow that to the row of the scope you are thinking of getting (example, 8″ / 203mm) and you will see how much more light it gathers (in this case 4x the light of the 102mm).
